Sedona offers a rich array of events and festivals that feature world-class performers and entertainers. See below a list of various events & plan your trip to make the most of your Sedona visit.

OCTOBER
October 15:
SEDONA MAIN STREET PAINT OUT – Saturday, October 15 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. See thirty nationally recognized Plein Air Artists along sidewalks and plazas in Uptown, each completing a painting in 3 hours. Free event sponsored by Sedona Main Street Program and presented with Sedona Arts Center.

October 17:
PUMPKIN SPLASH – Bring your bathing suit and join your friends at the best pumpkin patch in Sedona. On October 17 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., the Sedona Community Pool will be home to pumpkins ready for the picking. Out of the water that is! This unique event is fun for all ages. Pumpkin Splash is limited to the first 300 people. Everyone entering the pool facility, adults and children alike, must pay a $4 entry fee. This entry fee includes a pumpkin to take home.

October 22:
FALL ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR – This show is an old-fashioned, small town arts & crafts show with lunch and a bake sale at the Sedona Heritage Museum. All items are hand-made. The artist or craftsman can tell you how they make their pieces, where they find their unusual materials or what inspires them. Many vendors only do this show making their items unusual & uncommon. Find a large variety of offerings including fine art, ceramics, woodcarvings, jewelry, home and garden decor, baskets, gourd art, wearable art, greeting cards and gifts galore.

October 22-29:
SEDONA PLEIN AIR FESTIVAL – Contemporary plein-air artists paint from life in the out-of-doors capturing moments in time that reflect the ever-changing colors, light and shadows, temperature and shifting elements. Paint-Outs, Exhibition, Gallery, Sale, Events. 928-282-3809

RED ROCKS OKTOBERFEST – The Rotary Club of Sedona Red Rocks presents this Autumn craft beer festival on October 22 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Posse Grounds Park. 12+ craft breweries, wine, food, music and FUN! Wear your lederhosen or dirndl and join the crowds – all proceeds raised fund scholarships for Sedona kids.

October 25-29:
JOIN THE MURAL MARIGOLD PROJECT FOR DIA DE LOS MUERTOS – Join us in our 5th year as we create another incredible public mural in the Calle Independencia where visitors and community members can honor the loss of loved ones in their lives and connect with one another though art and public expression. All week the public is invited to paint on the mural.

October 29:
DIA DE LOS MUERTOS CELEBRATION AT TLAQUEPAQUE – Join us in the courtyards of Tlaquepaque on Saturday, October 29 to make an offering at the Celebration of Dia de los Muertos. Music, food and beautiful altars will be on view starting at 2:00 p.m. Watch fire dancers and visit our thematic face painting booth. Costumes are encouraged. Ofrenda or Offering, in the traditional Mexican celebration of Día de los Muertos, is created to remember the dead and to honor ancestors.

October 31:
30th ANNUAL SAFE & FUN TRICK OR TREAT – Uptown Sedona is held October 31 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Merchants welcome ghouls and ghosts at storefronts for treats! Free event coordinated by Sedona Main Street Program plus Costume Contest in partnership with City of Sedona.


NOVEMBER

November 11:
VETERAN’S DAY TRIBUTE – The City’s annual tribute to veterans and active military is always on this date beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Sedona Heritage Museum. Program includes a Flag Ceremony, dignitaries, a program, recognition of veterans, entertainment and light lunch. Shuttle service is provided from nearby parking lots. The day’s events are underwritten by the City of Sedona and the Sedona Heritage Museum. Program, refreshments and Museum admission are free. Everyone is welcome to come, meet, and thank in-person those who served.

DECEMBER
December 1-31:
HOLIDAY CENTRAL SEDONA – Sedona transforms into a red rock winter wonderland for the entire month of December with events, festivals, and entertainment sure to enchant everyone. Discover the perfect destination for families and friends to celebrate the holiday season, make memories and create new traditions – all in the most beautiful place on Earth.

December 1-3:
FESITVAL OF TREES AT TLAQUEPAQUE – This premiere holiday event at Tlaquepaque begins on Thursday, December 1. Area artists and galleries will have Art inspired trees. The trees all have different themes and incorporate different materials. Kick off your holiday season with a beautiful themed tree already pre-decorated. The trees will be on display and up for silent auction on Calle Independencia. Proceeds benefiting Toys for Tots, Marines Helping Marines.

December 2:
TREE LIGHTING & SANTA VISIT – Friday, December 2, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Canyon Breeze Plaza in Uptown. Enjoy the Tree-lighting, entertainment and Santa visits with children. Free event presented by Sedona Main Street Program, Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau and City of Sedona.

December 3:
BREAKFAST WITH SANTA – Sedona Parks and Recreation is pleased to bring to you for the seventh year running, our Breakfast with Santa event. After breakfast, children can enjoy making winter crafts, as well as sitting on Santa’s lap. Parents, don’t forget to bring your camera! This event is free, so come for the pancakes (and more), come for the crafts and most of all, come to see Santa Claus! At the Sedona Teen Center located in Posse Grounds Park. Doors open at 8:00 a.m.

December 3-4, 2016:
THE NUTCRACKER – The Phoenix Ballet and Sedona Chamber Ballet will present breathtaking performances of The Nutcracker on December 3rd and 4th at the Sedona Performing Arts Center. Enjoy a Nutcracker production with professional sets, costumes and, most importantly, internationally acclaimed, award winning dancers.

December 10:
THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS – THE LIGHTING OF 6,000 LUMINARIAS – Saturday, December 10, from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. This one day event – A cherished tradition which involves the lighting of six thousand luminarias in Tlaquepaque’s courtyards and walkways at 5:00 p.m. Specially designated Luminarias honoring cancer survivors can be purchased in advance for $10.00 by calling 928-282-4838

CHRISTAMS IN THE PARK – Enjoy Christmas in the Park, a free annual open house from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. including Sedona Heritage Museum admission, afternoon concert, hot apple cider, cookies, apple sorter demos and make & take cornhusk ornaments. On the National Register of Historic Places, the museum’s buildings will be decorated in vintage holiday decor. Meet the tumbleweed ‘snowman’, Sedona old-timers and descendants of pioneer families. Visit with local authors signing their books and don’t miss the Museum Shop’s annual sale.

December 17:
HOLIDAY SWEET STROLL – Discover unique gifts, enjoy sparkling lights, strolling carolers at the Holiday Sweet Stroll at Tlaquepaque. The retailers will open their doors and celebrate the holidays with sweet treats, special give-a-ways, and discount offers. Featuring some of the best boutiques, galleries and restaurants in Sedona, you are sure to find some special presents for those on your gift list.

January 14-15, 2017:

sedona vegfest SEDONA VEGFEST – A two-day celebration of everything veg, with something for everyone from the committed vegan to the simply veg-curious. World-renowned speakers provide education and inspiration on the medical, ethical, and environmental benefits of a whole-food, plant-based diet and lifestyle, celebrity chefs share their secrets of WFBP food preparation, and dozens of exhibits showcase the latest foods, products, services, and information for WFPB living.

FEBRUARY
February 4, 2017:

Sedona Marathon LogoSEDONA MARATHON EVENT – The 12th Annual Sedona Marathon Event will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017. The Sedona Marathon Event will feature four distances sure to take your breath away: 5K, 10K, Half, and Full Marathon. This scenic race attracts athletes from around the globe to enjoy Sedona’s red rocks up close and personal. “If the scenery doesn’t take your breath away, the hills will!”

47th ANNUAL ST. PATRICK’S PARADE & FESTIVAL – Saturday, March 11 along Jordan Road in Uptown Sedona. Free event presented by Sedona Main Street Program, NAU Parks and Recreation Program, Sedona Green Team. 46th Annual Parade starts at 10:30 a.m; free festival follows until 3:00 p.m.

APRIL

April 14, 2017:
CELEBRATION OF TWEEN – No little kids, just tweens on Friday night! Carnival rides, food for sale and fun with your friends. Children ages 10-14 (5-9 grade) are invited to play at this event. Rock wall, inflatable obstacles and rides will be turned on for them to enjoy from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.

April 15, 2017:
CELEBRATION OF SPRING – This is much more than just an egg hunt, this is a Celebration of Spring! Join us April 15 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for this fun, action packed event for families and all those in the community that enjoy spring and the beautiful outdoors. Inflatable toys for kids, petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, carnival rides, duck races and much more are included with the admission fee for the youth attendees. $5 for children 12 and younger.

April 28-30, 2017:
SEDONA OPEN STUDIOS TOUR – The 14th Annual Open Studios Tour takes place April 28 -30th from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. each day. This is an opportunity to visit with artists in their own work environments and gain a deeper understanding of the creative process. The wonderful event is free.

MAY

May 6, 2017:
CINCO DE MAYO CELEBRATION AT TLAQUEPAQUE – Immerse yourself in a colorful Fiesta saluting a rich heritage on Saturday, May 6, at Tlaquepaque. Enjoy the festivities while cheering and whistling to the music of mariachi musicians, clapping to the steps of Folklorico dancers and savoring traditional Mexican food.

GREAT SEDONA CHILI COOK-OFF – The Rotary Club of Sedona’s annual fundraiser, The Great Sedona Chili Cook-Off is on the Saturday of the Cinco de Mayo weekend at Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. All proceeds from the Chili Cook-Off are used for local and international Rotary Club of Sedona Projects, including the Imagination Library.

May 31 – June 4:
ILLUMINATE Film Festival – The world’s premier film festival for conscious cinema. Dedicated to spreading enlightened ideas and pushing humanity forward, ILLUMINATE is a landmark destination event and centerpiece for conscious content. Our mission is to expand human consciousness through cinema.

JUNE

June 2-3:
COMMUNITY CAMP OUT – Camp at Sunset Park! This event will be held on June 2-3 beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Friday evening and ending at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning. For only $15 per tent (if you provide your own) or $35 per tent (if we provide your tent), participants can join others for a night of camping under the stars, hot dog roasting and s’mores, telescope star viewing, and a group yoga class in the morning.
JULY

July 4, 2017:
4th OF JULY WET FEST – Get wet at the Sedona Community Pool from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at this free family event. The pool will be open as well as water slides and slip-n-slides set up just outside the pool gate. Live DJ and food for sale help to create the festive atmosphere. The pool is located at 570 Posse Ground Road (behind West Sedona School).

July 15, 2017:
A DOG’S DAY OUT IN THE PARK – The City of Sedona Parks and Recreation Department cordially invites all animal lovers and dog owners to support our pet-friendly event, A Dog’s Day Out in the Park. This event is being held Saturday, July 15 from 7:00 – 9:30 a.m. on the multi-use field at Posse Grounds Park. This event is free for those interested in playing with their dogs on the beautiful grass field.

July 21-22, 2017:
13th ANNUAL NATIONAL DAY OF THE COWBOY CELEBRATION – Main Street District, July 21-22 from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.; Enjoy “a whole lotta cowboy going’s on”: gunfights, roping, action shooting, historical re-enactments, country music, cowboy storytelling, trades, art. Free event by Sedona Main Street Program, Red Rock Posse and area businesses.

AUGUST – OCTOBER

October 7-8, 2017:
SEDONA ARTS FESTIVAL – 27th annual festival: 125 artists from across the country, KidZone art activities, Gourmet Gallery, International Guest artist, live music, food, and more! On the campus of Sedona Red Rock High School. $10 in advance; $12 at the gate, 12 and under are free. Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

October 21, 2017:
